Śata Rudrīya is like an Upaniṣad revealing the truth of jīva, the individual, jagat, the world and Īśvara, the Lord. Chanting of the Śata Rudrīya is also considered one of the efficacious means to neutralize the result of wrong action. Even a renunciate, a sannyāsī, is advised to recite this hymn daily with understanding of the words and their implications to live a contemplative life.
