Who We Are

About the Trust

The Arsha Vidya Research and Publication Trust (AVR&PT) is a registered non-profit charitable organisation, established on 21 February 2005. Our office is located at Srinidhi Apartments, 32/4 Desika Road, Mylapore, Chennai 600 004.

Founded to honour and preserve the teachings of Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati, AVR&PT serves as the single authoritative source for his writings, lectures, and recorded teachings — entrusted with this role in writing by Swamiji himself.

All contributions to the Trust are exempt from tax under Section 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act, 1961.

Our Purpose

Vision & Mission

AVR&PT transcribes, edits, collates, and publishes Swamiji's teachings, lectures, and writings with one clear purpose: to spread the vision of our traditional spiritual texts and scriptures through systematic expansion of quality print and publishing media — at prices that remain accessible to all.

Beyond publishing, the Trust is committed to building an archive and library that preserves this teaching tradition in its pure and pristine form for generations to come. Today, the Trust houses over 5,736 hours of master transcripts — a remarkable and irreplaceable repository of Advaita Vedanta.

Swami Dayananda Saraswati

Swami Dayananda Saraswati is a traditional teacher of Vedanta. His teachings reveal the most profound truths — rooted in the richness of tradition, yet strikingly immediate in their presentation.

What sets Swamiji apart is his rare ability to communicate with total clarity, holding his audience spellbound as he drives home concepts, truths, and definitions. Impeccable logic, brilliant analysis, erudition, and precise use of language — paired with a childlike sense of humour — make his works the greatest living legacy of Advaita Vedanta.

Ignorance of one's true nature is the cause of all sorrow. There is no 'becoming' free or liberated. One is already free, but ignorant of it.

Swamiji personally edited every book published by AVR&PT, ensuring that the vision of Vedanta is communicated with the clarity it deserves.

The Teaching Tradition

To preserve and nurture the tradition of Vedantic learning and teaching, Swamiji established residential centres of learning — Arsha Vidya Gurukulams — offering both long-term and short-term programmes of study.

The flagship three-year residential course offers an in-depth study of the major Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Brahmasutra, and Prakaranas — alongside Sanskrit grammar and supporting subjects. Shorter camps, from two weeks to three months, allow students to explore complete texts in focused immersions. Through these programmes, Swamiji has trained over 300 disciples who continue to carry the teaching tradition forward.

AVR & PT has published close to 100 titles and still counting across a wide range of series, with every title carefully transcribed, edited, and produced to faithfully reflect Swamiji's teachings — making the wisdom of Advaita Vedanta accessible to readers across the world.
